Method

A 5-step method to create clarity before building.

A guided process that turns context, value and goals into direction, messaging, system and coherent touchpoints.

How I work

Each phase removes ambiguity and increases coherence: first we understand the problem, then we decide what should lead, and then we translate it into system and application.

AI can help make some steps faster or smoother. But writing better, on its own, is not enough: direction, criteria and priorities need to come first.

Understanding and context

We clarify goals and landscape: market, competitors, audience and priorities.

Direction and choices

We turn insights into direction and messaging: clear decisions, not arbitrary ones.

System and guidelines

We build a replicable system: identity, rules and materials to work with clarity and confidence.

The 5 steps

The process can adapt to the stage you are in, but the logic stays the same: direction first, then construction.

Step 1

Analysis & research

Sector, competitors, alternatives and audience. Understanding the context to identify real opportunities.

  • Competitor and alternatives snapshot
  • Audience hypotheses and needs
  • Opportunities and constraints, including what to avoid
Step 2

Strategic direction

We define what the brand stands for and why it should be chosen: proposition, differentiators and messaging.

  • Proposition and proof
  • Key messages and what not to say
  • Priorities based on guided choices
Step 3

Brand identity

Values, personality and promise: the foundation for recognisable communication.

  • Personality and principles
  • Promise and tone, including editorial direction
  • Alignment between offer and perception
Step 4

Brandbook

Clear rules to use the brand well, consistently: a visual and application system.

  • Palette, typography and graphic elements
  • Usage rules and examples
  • Assets and templates, if included
Step 5

Communication strategy

Messaging, tone, channels and content: a coherent system to communicate more effectively.

  • Content pillars and recurring themes
  • Priority touchpoints and channels
  • Action plan: what to do first

What you get

  • Grounded decisions, not choices based on taste
  • Clear and defensible direction
  • Replicable identity
  • Recognisable messaging and tone
  • Guidelines and materials ready to use
